Edna May Oliver's week has come to an end, and all 16 of her reviews are now posted to her page. Are you ready for your next clue?
This adorable child star played Edna May Oliver's nephew in a Charles Dickens classic. Do you know who he is? Check back on Wednesday to find out! Edna May Oliver is our new Star of the Week! To start off, her page includes a video clip from Pride & Prejudice and reviews from Little Miss Broadway and Little Women. Enjoy! Now that the Academy Award nominations have been released (and that means the annual Rag post is just around the corner), are you rooting for any performance or film in particular? I'm holding good thoughts for the Best Actress category. In case you've already seen all five of the ladies' movies and are looking for some more strong women, check out these oldies but goodies:
In 7 Women (starring Anne Bancroft), a female doctor comes to a missionary in China during a dangerous rebellion. In The Chapman Report (starring Jane Fonda), four women are interviewed about their sex lives and bedroom problems. All the Way Home (starring Jean Simmons) is a period drama that shows a matriarch's strength when she never thought she'd need it. As much fun as it was, Ward Bond's week has come to an end. All 49 of his reviews are now posted to his page, and how it's time for your clue to help you guess next week's Star:
Next week's star won Oscar and Rag nominations for the movie in which she shared a long onscreen smooch with Ward Bond. . . Do you know who she is? Come back on Sunday to find out! Happy Valentine's Day! Just in case your plans tonight involve curling up in front of a movie with your sweetheart, or hosting a 'single ladies' party and watching a fun romance, Hot Toasty Rag has a couple of great lists for you. New this year on the dramatic side are Girls Dormitory and A Guy Named Joe, and new on the lighter side are It Happened One Night and A Very Special Favor. Enjoy!
