Maggie Smith is our new Star of the Week! To start things off on her page, we've posted reviews for two fun movies you might not remember her in: Hot Millions and Evil Under the Sun. You can also watch a video clip from her Oscar-winning The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. I'd love to review the six seasons of Downton Abbey, but you know the Rag doesn't feature television. Enjoy, and come back to her page every day for new reviews!

How do you decide which books to read at what time? I like to sort out my books into seasons. In the spring, I like lighter, sweet books. Thrillers seem out of place when trees are blossoming all around me. Here are some books I've picked up now that the weather's changed: Eight Cousins, The Blue Castle, Into Your Arms, and perhaps the perfect-est spring book ever: Meet Me at Wisteria Cottage.
Judi Dench's time as Star of the Week has come to an end, and all 36 movie reviews have now been posted to her page. Here's your clue for next week's star:
Their relationship goes beyond the screen. They've made six movies together, and they're also friends in real life! Check back on Tuesday to start her week. What are your St. Patrick's Day traditions? Whether you're Irish or not, it's always fun to do some celebrating. If your plans involve a movie, check out the Rag's page of festive flicks.
Judi Dench is our new Star of the Week! To start things off, we've got reviews posted for Chocolat and Victoria & Abdul, to her page, as well as a video clip from GoldenEye. Judi Dench has done some television, too, so if you want, check out thirteen years of As Time Goes By, five years of Angelina Ballerina, three years of A Fine Romance, six years of Jackanory, and two years of Cranford. Come back every day for new reviews and enjoy! Now that winter is coming to a close, it's time to bring out those springtime books. What did you read over the rainy months? I've added reviews for The Last Time I Saw Paris, Voyage of the Heart, Our Souls at Night, Away from the Dark, and I Liked My Life. Some good, some not so good - check them out!
Once a year, I reserve the Rag for a strictly selfish post, and here it is: my seventh novel has just hit the shelves! Sergeant Benson's Lie has given me perhaps the greatest joy and pride of all my works. I loved creating and developing the characters, immersing myself in the time period, and being surprised when the story took different turns than I'd originally planned. Fans of the war epic Mabel Crowley will love Sergeant Benson’s Lie, a coming of age story of two brothers, their bond, and the events that threaten to shatter their bond forever. Jim Benson is determined to protect his younger, more reckless brother George - even if it means sacrificing his own desires. Even if it means telling a lie. A lie that could destroy everyone’s trust in him and his brother’s love and respect. Set in the backdrop of WWII, the saga spans from the streets of New York City to the deserts of North Africa. While some fight for their lives in Tunisia, others make lasting friendships with Bette Davis, John Garfield, Montgomery Clift, and Broadway’s finest, entertaining soldiers at the Stage Door Canteen. From author E.H. Nolan, this is a story of sacrifice, loyalty, bravery, and honor. Pick up your kindle or paperback copy on Amazon today! |
