WWII continued to influence the settings of most films, and we were proud to right a wrong from the Oscars and name our Best Picture as Since You Went Away, the American version of Mrs. Miniver. We were also proud to award our Best Original Song and Best Musical Score awards to beautiful creations that weren’t even nominated for Oscars.
