An Ideal Husband (1999)
Rupert Everett is a bachelor at the turn of the century. He enjoys being unmarried, coming and going as he pleases without answering to anyone, and enjoying a love affair only if he feels like it. Naturally, as a very eligible bachelor, every woman wants to marry him!
When he’s finally told by his father that he must get married in order to receive his inheritance, his entire world is turned upside down. Oh, the horror of marriage! Still, if he wants money, he has to settle down. It’s very ironic that the three women he’s torn between are supposed to be so beautiful he can neither resist nor choose between them aren’t very pretty and are very resistible: Minnie Driver, Julianne Moore, and Cate Blanchett. Who would you choose for a life of misery—I mean, life of marriage? You’ll have to see this fluffy, silly, Victorian comedy to find out who Rupert picks.
