Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001)
When I was a kid, I just wasn’t interested in cartoons without songs in them. So, although I didn’t like Atlantis: The Lost Empire when it came out in theaters, as an adult now, I understand the target audience wasn’t me. Thirteen-year-old boys who were forced to continue to watch cartoons, either by their parents or because they had younger siblings, would love it. With a young-ish male protagonist and a female love interest with comic-book proportions, it’s a cinch that this movie is geared more towards the boys. Also, most girls haven’t even heard of Atlantis, let alone are interested enough to watch an entire movie about it.
