Cedar Cove #2: 204 Rosewood Lane
by Debbie Macomber
I loved the first book in the Cedar Cove series, and 204 Rosewood Lane was just as entertaining, emotional, and delightful. In the second installment, stock characters continue their romances and self-discoveries, and a new couple is introduced and given center stage, just as the young Marine couple was in the first book. A very realistic devolving marriage is written, with symbolic arguments hiding larger issues, separate points of view, the effect it has on the kids, and outside influences dragging the couple apart. It’s just as heartbreaking and accessible as the couple from the first book, and when you read about them, it’s impossible not to get personally involved with the residents of Cedar Cove.
I highly recommend this fantastic Debbie Macomber series, if you like multi-faceted characters with varied storylines, and small-town charm. Plus, the way they’re written, you don’t have to start from the beginning. There’s enough recap included in each book to get you caught up no matter where you start!
