Cedar Cove #9: 92 Pacific Boulevard
by Debbie Macomber
Before I get to the book, I’ll tell you a little tidbit about the order of the series. In between 8 Sandpiper Way and 92 Pacific Boulevard, there’s a Christmas book. It’s not included in the regular numerical order—entitled A Cedar Cove Christmas--so you might, like me, read the regular series and save the Christmas one for the holiday season. If you do that, there’s one tiny plot point that you’ll miss, involving a new character moving to town. However, Debbie Macomber is always excellent at recaps, so if, like me, you did skip the Christmas book, you won’t really feel lost. You’ll just think to yourself, “Did I blink? Who’s Mary Jo?”
Mary Jo becomes a regular in Cedar Cove, but the other regular residents pick up right where they left off in 8 Sandpiper Way, so there’s nothing else you’ll miss. The mystery of the cave is dissected, Troy and Faith are still on-and-off, as are Christie and James. For any of you who are tired of the back-and-forth, there are plenty of other couples who are strong and steady, and ready to catch you up on the latest of their lives.
Call me a sucker for rooting for the bad guy, but I’m very interested to see Will making a reappearance in Cedar Cove. Is he changing his ways? I’d like to think so, but only time will tell. Time, and reading more books!
