Corrina, Corrina (1994)
Corrina, Corrina is a very sweet movie that calls out to a lot of people. Those who like period pieces from the golden age will appreciate the 1950s music and the feel of small town neighbors who know everyone’s business. Whoopi Goldberg fans will love seeing her in another no-nonsense role, but this one gives her a little more character to work with than her silly turn in Ghost. If you think Ray Liotta is adorable, you’ll love him as he sheds his gangster persona and plays a grieving single father. And finally, those who like family sentiment will get totally absorbed in the family drama (that can magically get fixed in two hours) about a little girl who refuses to talk until a new maid works her way into her heart.
I’ve seen this cute romance a few times, and I’m never disappointed. Yes, I’m in it for the eye candy, but the story itself is pretty good.
