Hall Pass (2011)
Imagine a world where if you behave badly enough as a husband, your wife will go on vacation and let you have a week off from your marriage. . .
Sounds amazing, doesn’t it? In this hilarious Farrelly Brothers comedy, Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis are average guys and typical husbands. Deep down, they love their wives, but they long for the good old days before they were tied down and could pursue any gorgeous girl they met. When wives Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate decide they can’t take any more of their husbands’ frustrations, petty jokes, and obvious dissatisfaction of their lives, they go away for the week and leave the boys alone. They can do whatever they want without feeling guilty or adulterous. Owen and Jason think they’ve just been given the coolest gift in the world, as do their friends, Stephen Merchant, Larry Joe Campbell, JB Smoove, and Richard Jenkins. But what if they don’t turn out to be the cool kids they thought they were?
This movie is a total laugh fest from start to finish, but it is pretty nasty, so if you don’t like that type of humor, skip it. With tons of sex jokes and nudity, this is also a movie to avoid if you’re on a date or in a new relationship. Just watch it with your best pals and laugh yourself silly. I’ve seen it probably a dozen times, and it never gets old. “Does this napkin smell like chloroform?” Just remembering my favorite jokes makes me laugh.
Kiddy Warning: Obviously, you have control over your own children. However, due to nudity and sexual content, I wouldn't let my kids watch it.
