If Only (2004)
I’d written a short story titled If Only with a very similar plot before watching the 2004 tv movie starring Jennifer Love Hewitt; before publication, I changed a few things (including the title). Great minds think alike!
So, if you haven’t read my book, you might be wondering what this story is about. It’s a love story, perfect for fans of Premonition or other fate-themed flicks. Jennifer and her boyfriend Paul Nicholls are relatively happy. They have little squabbles, and she sometimes complains that he doesn’t prioritize her, but they do love each other. A terrible accident results in Jennifer’s death, but when Paul wakes up the next day and she’s very much alive, he worries it was either a dream or a premonition. Given enough chances to relive the same day with similar events, depending on the choices he makes, can he stop the accident from happening? Costarring Tom Wilkinson as the driver at fault, this romance is a great choice for a rainy day’s matinee. It is a little cheesy, but it won’t hurt you.
