On the Road (2012)
You’re either going to like On the Road or wonder why it was made. If you like the original Jack Kerouac book and think the Beat Generation knew the meaning of life, you’ll belong to the first camp. If indie movies get under your skin, and you think “rebels without a cause” should stop complaining and get a life, Camp Two will be your home.
In this off-beat (pun intended) indie flick, audiences get to watch a group of teenagers succumb to the beat generation and leave all structure behind. They leave their homes, go to parties rampant with sex, drugs, and rock and roll, and manage to waste over two hours of the audience’s time without any purpose. The only real draw is the cast: Sam Riley, Tom Sturridge, Kristen Stewart, Elisabeth Moss, Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst, Garrett Hedlund, Alice Braga, Terrence Howard, Steve Buscemi, and Viggo Mortensen. But think seriously before you waste your time.
