One Fell Sweep
by Ilona Andrews
In the third installment of Iona Andrews’s Innkeeper Chronicles series, you’re treated to a Christmas setting. Don’t get your hopes up, though. There’s hardly any festiveness until the very end when the heroine realizes it’s mid-December and decides to decorate. But then again, if you’re into the third book of this series, you’re not just shopping for a Christmas novel, right?
My favorite of the series so far is the second one because it has a lot of humor and focuses on the decoration part of the magical inn. I really could care less about werewolves and vampires, but I’ll read anything about a bed and breakfast that can shapeshift its rooms according to each guest’s preference! The heroine is interesting, even though I’m not the target audience for these books, and I can get behind her love of family and loyalty to her guests and friends. In this book, her sister gets rescued from another planet and comes to Earth with her little girl, a half vampire. The sister is a widow, and she’s very tough. So, with two tough, magical girls in the lead, do you think there will be double the romance? That’s a good guess, and if you’re interested in that portion of these books, you won’t be disappointed.
