Return to Christmas Creek (2018)
Tori Anderson hasn’t been much of a big-family-Christmas person ever since she and her parents moved away from Christmas Creek and had a falling out with her uncle, Steven Weber. Instead, she’s risen high in the corporate world and gone on tropical vacations to unsentimental places. Then, one year, everything goes wrong: her pitch gets rejected at work, her boyfriend dumps her, and her family gets a surprise invitation to return home to Christmas Creek. Without telling her parents, she hops on a plane and hopes to mend fences with her uncle.
When she arrives, Steven is very friendly but a little reserved – and understandably so. They haven’t seen each other in fifteen years, and he has bad blood with her parents. Steven also has trouble of his own, as he and his ex-girlfriend, Kari Matchett, obviously still have feelings for each other but are afraid to try again. It’s not exactly a wonderful time of year for him, but perhaps as Tori reminds him of the importance of family, she can also get him to believe in love again. She has her own romance with her childhood sweetheart all grown up, Stephen Huszar. Parts of this Hallmark Christmas flick are cute, but it doesn’t really have anything to make it stand out among the rest as a yearly holiday favorite. I’ll probably watch it again in a few years, though.
