Since it's my birthday, it's only fair that I post reviews of three of my all-time favorite books.
To start, we have A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. I first read this in eighth grade, but I get more out of it every time I read it, even now as an adult. Yes, I'm an adult. I really can't deny it, not after this birthday. Mark Twain's fantasy is a classic in every sense of the word, and if you haven't read it, do so. As a birthday present to me. Next up is the book that started it all, and by "it", I mean soapy scandals! If you liked Desperate Housewives and Peyton Place, you'll love Cousin Bette. This French small-town epic is hilarious and complex, and the language is beautiful. And to close off the special birthday books, I have a non-fiction: A Jane Austen Education is fantastic. Everyone should read it, not just the die-hard Jane Austen fans. Okay, if you really hate her, you probably shouldn't read it. But everyone else, head on over to my review to find out why it should be added to you queue!
