I've always said that fantasy isn't my genre of choice, but I recently realized that I've read quite a bit of those books! And since I keep coming back for more, I must not dislike them as much as I initially thought. In the "Innkeeper Chronicles" series, a magical bed & breakfast gets visited by vampires, werewolves, and witches! Check out the first three books: Clean Sweep, Sweep in Peace, and One Fell Sweep.
For those of you wrapped up in the "Unwanteds" series, I've also posted a review for the third book: Island of Fire. Enjoy! Merle Oberon's time as Star of the Week has come to a close, and all 25 reviews are now posted to her page. Are you ready for your next clue?
Next week’s star was a classic dramatic actor. But in the movie he made with Merle Oberon, he sang and danced. Do you know who he is? Come back on Thursday to find out and start his week. Our new Star of the Week is Merle Oberon! To start things off, you can watch her famous "I am Heathcliff!" clip from Wuthering Heights, or read reviews of two more obscure flicks, Night Song and Beloved Enemy. Come back to her page every day for new reviews, and enjoy! Though not everyone today knows who Vincent Price is, horror fans certainly do! So it is to you that I reach out with this post, to the horror movie buffs and to art lovers. Mr. Price's first (and only, really) love was for art, and his memoir I Like What I Know is a visual autobiography in which he describes the artistic beauty he's come across during his life. Descriptively written, touching, and humorous, it's delightful to read - even if you've never seen a single movie of his.
All good things must come to an end, and so we must say farewell to Curd Jurgens's time as Star of the Week. All 28 of his reviews are now posted to his page, and it's time for your next clue. Ready?
This classic actress played both Curd Jurgens’s love interest and his sister. . . I know, the clue is a little strange. Maybe you could watch a few of his movies over the next couple of days! In any case, come back on Thursday to find out who she is. |
