I'm not one to normally give a nasty review. My fellow film school students probably remember I was always the one giving compliments no matter how terrible the student film turned out. After all, someone put their blood, sweat, and tears into that project! It takes a great deal of time, passion, and stress to make a finish a creative endeavor. A critic can stand idly by, throwing out hurtful words the creator might remember the rest of his or her life--or potential harm or end the person's career. I could never stand harsh criticism to others, even in my film school years, so when I give a review of something I didn't like, I always try to be at least a little kind in the process.
That being said, it's time for some scathing reviews. I highly doubt the authors of the books I'm reviewing will ever read my criticisms, but if they do, I sincerely apologize for any hurt feelings I might cause. It is even less likely that my words will hinder a very successful author's career, so my conscious is relatively clear posting these harsh reviews. The Gin Lovers The Husband's Secret Before I Go to Sleep If you liked these books, let me know! I'd love to hear your perspective.
